Platform Housing has a Retirement Living scheme called Henwick House. Conveniently located in the in heart of the St Johns, a suburb of Worcester. Close to many local amenities. St Johns is known as the village in the city and is situated on the western side of the River Severn. Provides road links to Hereford and Leominster to the west, Malvern to the South and access to the M5 North via Worcester City centre or Holt Heath and M5 South via the southern by-pass. Worcester City centre is to the east of the river bridge and is accessible on foot or by Bus.
Henwick House is a scheme of one and two bedroom unfurnished apartments and includes some wheelchair standard properties and apartments with level access showers/wet rooms. One bedroom apartments are suitable for a single person or couples. With two bedroom apartments preference will be given to those assessed has having a two bed need.
You will be required to pay one month’s rent/service charges of £557.09 for a one bed apartment or £611.79 for a two bed apartment in advance prior to signing and receiving keys for the property.
If you are eligible and intend to claim Housing Benefit or Housing element of Universal Credit, please note for all apartments some service charges would not be covered by these benefits. This includes a £6.80 pcm towards the cost for support and £2.82 pcm toward the cost of management/administration.
The preferred method of payment ongoing is via Direct Debit and we accept Housing Benefit and Universal Credit.
If you are accepted and do become a Platform Housing Group tenant, you will be offered a starter tenancy. If there have been no breaches or issues within the first year of your tenancy you will be considered for an assured or affordable rent lifetime tenancy.
Please be aware Housing Benefit / Universal Credit will only pay for the property you are living in and you will need to give notice on your current tenancy.
If you are successful in being offered this property you will be contacted by the Lettings Officer and you will need to complete an application form. At this stage the Lettings Officer will confirm the rent and service charges.
