Platform Housing has a Retirement Living scheme called Park Heath just off Heath Close in the northern edge of Hallow.  With the lovely village is the benefit of a popular Public House, Shop, Post Office and Church.  Hallow lies on the western side of the River Severn, surrounded by countryside on the A443 and yet only about 3 miles north-west from the Cathedral city of Worcester.

Park Heath is a scheme of 26 one bedroom self-contained apartments on two levels.  Surrounded by communal grounds and car parking in front of the building. There are non-resident management staff and a 24-hour Careline alarm.  

We currently have 2 ground floor apartments available immediately:

  • One apartment is suitable for 1 person (Bathroom with shower over bath)
  • One apartment is suitable for 2 people (Bathroom with a shower cubicle)

 Each apartment is self-contained and unfurnished. Briefly consists of:- 

  • Kitchen
  • Lounge
  • Bathroom (some with showers and others with baths)
  • One double bedroom
  • Gas central heating
  • Energy performance certificate ratings of E
  • Double Glazing
  • Malvern Hills Council Tax band A
  • Careline alarm
  • No deposit/fees required

 To be eligible you must be aged 60+ or 55+ if you are in receipt of Personal Independence Payments or Disability Living Allowance.

You will be required to pay one month’s rent/service charges of between £642.53 and £649.83 in advance prior to signing and receiving keys for the property.

If you are eligible and intend to claim Housing Benefit or Housing element of Universal Credit, please note for all apartments some service charges would not be covered by these benefits. This includes a £6.80 pcm towards the cost for support and £2.17 pcm toward the cost of the communal TV. Also a £1.53pcm management charge and £7.26pcm charge for personal water in some properties.

The preferred method of payment ongoing is via Direct Debit and we accept Housing Benefit and Universal Credit.

If you are accepted and do become a Platform Housing Group tenant, you will be offered a starter tenancy. If there have been no breaches or issues within the first year of your tenancy you will be considered for an assured or affordable rent lifetime tenancy.  

Please be aware Housing Benefit / Universal Credit will only pay for the property you are living in and you will need to give notice on your current tenancy.   

If you are successful in being offered this property you will be contacted by the Lettings Officer and you will need to complete an application form. At this stage the Lettings Officer will confirm the rent and service charges.
